Armed Citizen Stops Rampage
TFS Magnum

"...In all of the reporting of the shooting at the church in Colorado, one thing is getting buried. The shooter was stopped by an armed citizen. That church was NOT a gun free zone..."

Back on the 7th, Tam had "no comment." She was correct in her observations and her prediction of the "Gun Free Zone" angle coming up again, only she thought it would be with the mall shooting. The Colorado church shooting may be the one that will bring more notice to the case against gun free zones.
"...As long as we have jets, people are going to die in flaming crashes. As long as we have busses, people are going to get run over. As long as we have rocks, people are going to get their brains bashed in. As long as we have hands, folks are gonna get strangled..."
"...Just because a gun is publicly held and not privately owned doesn't mean it's never going to be used to murder someone. Or thousands of someones. Understand that."

This is one issue that I believe even Matthew Jackson and I could agree on.

I would like to see a conceal/carry law in Illinois. If someone tries to start shooting people in a mall or church, there will be many people ready to stop it.

I concur with MCR. Gun laws are only used to restrict law abiding citizens. The lawless could care less about gun laws.

MCR, there is a forum discussion at IllinoisCarry.com, titled
"Will we ever get CCW in IL?"
Illinois is one of only 2 states that doesn't allow any form of CCW. I think that Chicago politics are the cause of this disgraceful restriction of law abiding citizen rights to defend themselves and their families against the thugs that assume their victims will be unarmed by the state.

Caesar, I think that criminals DO care about gun laws, as this disarming by the state makes their "jobs" much easier and safer for them. I do agree with you that they won't obey or conform to gun laws, old or new.
